The source of the Hérault, Bridge of the Devil

The entry to “the throats of the Hérault”, where the old Bridge of the Devil crosses the river at its narrowest point, nestling below the steep banks of the mountain, this remarkable construction, which is said to be the oldest Romanesque construction, which is said to be the oldest Romanesque bridge in France, resisting almost 1000 years the ravages of the autumnal rise in the water level, which can sometimes reach as much as 10 times the normal.
